Happy March!
Hey loves! It’s almost spring!
We’ve been getting slammed with Nor’easters, bomb cyclones, blizzards, and what have you up here in the great Rhode Island and I’m definitely over winter already. Thank goodness I didn’t lose power, but the clean-up was definitely NOT fun! Not to mention the hospital where I work was pretty slammed, so it’s been pure madness here.
But guess what?!
I finally finished the first draft of Dax’s book, VERMILION LIES! Yay!
I’m making my way through revisions now, but I hope to have the manuscript to my editor in a few months. I can’t wait to share this story with you all! A badass superhero, a dark and sexy heroine, a forbidden love, vampires, chaos, DESTRUCTION! What more could you ask for?
COMING SOON! ❤
For those who may be interested, check out the VL Pinterest Board and Spotify Playlist. 😀

THE ORDER OF THE SENARY:
SWEET SACRIFICE is a Night Owl Reviews Top Pick!
I’m so thrilled! Check it out:
L.D. Rose is a new author for me and WOW. She did such an amazing job of blending all the elements of romance. In “Sweet Sacrifice” you get your suspense and mythology as well as religion. The author kept me wanting to read more and more until my poor eyes just stopped focusing. Just when you think it can’t get better she throws in some paranormal battles, betrayals, and danger. Plus don’t forget the some smokin hot chemistry and a forbidden love. *Ding, Ding, Ding*. We have a WINNER with “Sweet Sacrifice”. 4.5/5 Stars! – Night Owl Reviews
Excerpt of SWEET SACRIFICE:
The alarm on her phone jolted her awake.
Reaching over to the nightstand, Irene hit the damn thing but it continued to blare. She fumbled with the device and finally pushed the circular button at its base, silencing the cringe-worthy sound.
Her eyes drifted open to her sunlit room, bright and glaring. Squeezing her lids shut, she nestled back under the covers, her mind densely fogged with sleep.
Five more minutes, just five more minutes–
Then the events of last night poured into her gray matter, rapidly cutting through that fog with lucid swipes.
Arriving home from work. Sebastian at her door. Crying. Flying. Crying again. Making love. What he’d done to her on their dining room table, oh my God, she would never forget it–
She tensed, coiling tighter into herself. Listened. Tried to sense if his weight rested beside her. She was still naked, still stripped of everything before he’d laid her down here.
Silence. Not the slightest shift of sheets.
Had he vanished again? Was this yet another dream, another psychotic break for her to struggle through? Did she really want to turn around and find the bed empty, to see the honest-to-God proof of her insanity?
The alarm blared again, that grating tone setting her teeth on edge. She picked up her phone, ready to throw it, before a big hand grabbed it from her.
“You’re going to be pissed when it breaks,” Sebastian’s voice rumbled, sounding as if he’d gargled a pound of gravel.
Elation flooded her as she turned to find him peering up at the device, shutting it off with his marked hands. When the alarm ceased screaming, he dropped it on the mattress behind him and gave her a sleepy smile. Shifting toward her, he wrapped his arm around her waist and tucked her close to him, spooning his warm, equally naked body against hers and nuzzling her hair.
He took a deep breath and let it out. “You thought I was gone.”
He made it a statement, not a question. She swallowed past the growing lump in her throat and nodded, reveling in the sensation of his skin on hers, the relief that she hadn’t imagined it so profound it nearly brought her to tears-again.
Maybe she wasn’t crazy after all.
“I’m sorry I left last time. I kind of panicked.”
His soft lips pressed on her shoulder and she turned to look at him, raising her brow. “Why?”
He opened his mouth to respond when the doorbell chimed, sending another jolt through her, followed by a pounding on the front door.
Sebastian’s brow furrowed. “Who’s that?”
Irene scowled. “I don’t–”
Then the realization of her shrink appointment hit her, widening her eyes and making her gasp. “Oh, shit.”
“Reenie.” Lucille’s muffled voice rose into the open windows as she knocked again. “Wake up.”
Irene leapt out of bed so fast the room spun and she stumbled to maintain her balance.
“Whoa, whoa.” Sebastian followed suit, sunlight draping over his skin, rendering his already stunning body even more glorious. His tousled hair shone auburn in the golden rays, his feathered markings absorbing the light like black paint, and Jesus Christ, was that a sword etched into the length of his muscular leg–
“Reen? I’m coming in.” The jangle of keys struck fear into Irene’s heart as if Lucille had cocked a gun.
“Shit!” She scrambled to grab his pants, searching every corner of the room but finding them all empty.
“They’re downstairs,” he pointed out, a hint of a smile on his lips as he just stood there, nude and magnificent, infuriating her to no end.
She ran into the bathroom and tossed a towel at him. “Here, cover yourself up.” He caught the towel easily, letting it hang at his side while she rushed to throw on some clothes, struggling to slip on a too-tight pair of jeans.
Damn it, maybe she should wear her scrubs–
His warm hand touched her shoulder. “Reen. Calm down.”
The front door opened with a terrifying creak. Frantic now, she gave up on the jeans and opted for her robe, dashing back to the bathroom.
Sebastian pitched a sigh, wrapping the towel around his waist and tucking the edge at his hip. If it weren’t for the panic of being caught, she would’ve taken time to admire everything about this moment, waking up on a beautiful summer day with this gorgeous man in her bed.
But she didn’t have a freaking second because the clack of Lucille’s heels climbing up the stairs stomped right into Irene’s eardrums.
She cursed again and whispered a harsh, “Stay here,” before she slammed the door shut between them, her final vision of him standing with his hands on his hips wearing his signature lopsided grin.
