Author interview with romantic suspense author, Kenzie Macallan!

Well, hello there, lovely readers! I’m thrilled to have fellow CoLoNY member, Kenzie Macallan, on my blog today! She’s talking about her latest release, RIVETED (look at that cover, just look at it, seriously I’ll wait…did you look at it? Good. Now wipe that drool off your face! :D). Read on to find out more about this fabulous lady and her awesome debut novel!

Welcome, Kenzie! Tell us about your latest release. šŸ˜€

My latest and first release is ā€œRIVETEDā€ which is Book 1 in the Art of Eros Series. This book is about the oldest of three sisters, Marabella Luccenzo. What can I say, I love all things Italian! (Me too, ha!) Her sisters whisk her away to Mexico as a distraction to her recent tragedy. Her husband died under odd circumstances that left her with more questions than answers. Mara has a secret that has her create a barrier to protect herself from the pain and hide the secret. The landslide into her truth only starts with one pebble as she confides in her sisters her horrible reality with her late husband.

MacGregor Creighton “Mac”, a rogue Scotsman, shines light on the cold dark existence behind Mara’s wall. He’s usually a hit-and-run kind of guy with women. But Mara has him second-guessing his ways. Mac has a few secrets of his own that may destroy what he wants with Mara. He’s all alpha and pursues Mara whether she like it or not.

Both their worlds are shattered when Mara gets kidnapped. In her fight to stay alive, she makes some discoveries about herself and Mac.

Sounds FANTASTIC. šŸ˜€ What was the hardest thing about writing this book? The easiest?

This novel is a romantic suspense and one of hardest things to do is weave the romance storyline in with the suspense storyline. There needs to be a balance and yet seem natural to the story. I like to keep the reader guessing so as a writer I need to know when to drop little hints here and there without giving it away. I also get the best feedback from beta readers who love to tell me ā€œI saw that comingā€ and then I change it up. The easiest part was writing my characters. They were constantly looking over my shoulder, letting me know exactly what they had to say and when to say it. They have very distinct traits and attitudes, as you’ll find out with Raquelle.

Beta readers are wonderful for sure (I know I love the heck out of mine!). If you could bring one of your characters (villain or hero) to life, who would you chose? Why?

I would bring Brock, Mara’s late husband, to life. I would want to know why he made the choices he made in life. Were his choices a product of his upbringing or did he always view the world a little differently? He is complex on so many levels and I only skim the surface in my book. Mara is shocked most of all. The wife is always the last to know! (Ack, don’t say that!) I think he is one of those ā€œgenius borders on insanityā€ type of guys. He has some great one-liners and oozes with sarcasm. I think the reader will come away understanding him but not forgiving him.

Hell, I’d like to meet him! Paramount Pictures wants to make a movie about your latest novel. Who plays the main characters?

In my dreams, Paramount would come to me for anything! I would choose Richard Madden (Game of Thrones) to play Mac,

Cast member Madden poses at the premiere for the third season of the television series "Game of Thrones" in Hollywood

and his partner Jenna Coleman to play Mara.

Jenna-Coleman-384807

We would have to rough Richard up a bit but he has the look and the edge. His partner, Jenna Coleman is a dead ringer for Mara. I also noticed that Kate Mara (ha, ha) could play Mara as well. I had to think it through a bit because I didn’t have anyone in mind when I wrote the story.

Love Richard Madden (big fan of GoT here ;)). So tell us a little about yourself.

I live in the Northeast with my husband and dog, Niko, who keep me very busy. Niko follows me wherever I go and is with me when I write in my office. I love dogs! I think they are a gift to humans. (Dogs are the best writing partners in crime!)

As a child I traveled around the world to places like Africa, Greece, Italy, France, Switzerland, Holland and England. My favorite country is Scotland and hope to go back someday. I wanted to stay forever the first time around but I couldn’t find a Scotsman to marry!

I always loved to tell stories and when the three sisters got caught in my dream catcher, I had to take notice. I’m coming to writing a little later than most in life but I really enjoy everything about it. I’m bowled over by the wonderful people I have met along the way and all the people that want to help you.

When I’m not writing, I’m reading all kinds of romance novels.

Sounds like you’ve definitely had some adventures (which I’m quite jelly of!). Tell us one thing about yourself your readers may not know about you.

In college, I started out on the pre-med track but decided I didn’t want to go to school that long. As it turns out, I have a couple of degrees, love to learn new things, and went to school just as long.

I love to paint oil portraits, mostly of children because they have so much wonder and curiosity in their eyes.

Oil paintings, that’s great! I was never good with a paintbrush. But I did do the long med-track thing. šŸ˜‰ What are you working on now?

I’m currently working on Book 2 in the Art of Eros Series, EDGES. It’s Leigha’s story. Here’s a snippet:

While in Mexico, Mara’s admission of an abusive marriage triggers Leigha to have nightmares about an event in her past. Intrigued by the beautiful CIA operative, Sydney, she comes back to New York City and has a whirlwind affair but something’s off. During a photo shoot, she meets the hard edged Dean, who has an appetite for beautiful woman, fast bikes and shattered souls. After spending time with him her dreams become more intense and cloaked in red but she can’t quite piece it together. Other people’s secrets become entangled in her own. Through events that are out of her control, Leigha’s forced to face her demons allowing her to heal and let go of her control.

Wow, definitely has my interest! Fast bikes and shattered souls are my things too.Ā šŸ˜‰ Thanks so much for stopping by, Kenzie! So thrilled to have you here. šŸ˜€ Where else can we find you?Ā

Ā Teaser 1:

She had affected him on every level, in every way, with her words, smile and body. He couldn’t stay still, torn between keeping his distance and wanting to show her exactly how he wanted her. He didn’t do dating. No strings attached, friends with benefits, always the safest bet. Obviously, Marabella wasn’t that type of woman and his pull toward her scared the hell out of him. All bets were off.

Teaser 2:

As her thigh rested between his legs, she could feel his excitement. She smiled to herself and decided to get a little daring. Hearing a groan come from him, a wicked grin spread across her face.

ā€œDid you say something?ā€ she looked up using her most innocent voice batting her eyelashes.

ā€œWoman, you know exactly what you’re doing. Don’t play innocent with me.ā€ Mac had a stern but playful look in his eyes.

Character interview with FBI profiler, Jeff Crandall, from HARD SILENCE!

I’m on a roll with the character interviews this week! And I have something a little different for you today, Dear Reader. I’m chatting with FBI profiler Jeff Crandall from Mia Kay’s HARD SILENCE who I happened to visit in the Sawtooth Mountains (talk about getting your isolation on!). Read on to check out what happened. šŸ˜‰

Standing on the porch of a hilltop farm house, the field slopes down to a river and the tree-cluttered valley, and a neighboring small ranch is visible. The Sawtooth Mountains loom in the distance. I ring the bell.

The man who opens it has glasses perched on his nose, and his bright green eyes stare over the rims. His dark, shoulder-length hair is shaggy and graying at the temples. His beard matches in color, but it’s well-trimmed.

This interview could be fun.Ā Dr. Crandall? I’m Linda.

He blinks at me, clearly confused.

Your SAC in Chicago called you, right?

ā€œShit. Sorry. Yes. Bob called a few days back.ā€ He yanks his glasses from his nose. ā€œI’m just trying to get a few things done before I have to pick Evan up at school. Come in, and please call me Jeff.ā€

I walk into a dark, cool hallway, and immediately turn right into what appears to be an office. The first thing that catches my attention is a lovely photograph–a landscape of a lone tree, its leaves silver-green in the fog.

That’s beautiful.

His broad smile, slashing through the dark beard, is almost as distracting as his thick eyelashes. This is definitelyĀ going to be a fun afternoon.

ā€œAbby took it. It’s one of my favorites.ā€

When I turn to survey the room, the pictures on the opposite wall are startling. Crime scene photos are taped everywhere. Skeletons and excavation sites mark them as old burials.

ā€œWe can talk in the living room if you’d prefer.ā€

I walk along the wall, staring at the photos. ā€œNo, this is why I’m here after all. So Agent Myers–Bob–says you think all these cases are related.ā€

ā€œYou’re going to sit on the interview until we’re sure we’ve caught the killer, right?ā€ When I nod, he relaxes. ā€œThen yes, they’re related. I think a mother/daughter team was involved in the first three. After 1997, I believe the deaths were committed by the younger member of the team.ā€

Footsteps in the hall catch his attention, and he turns just as a young woman pokes her head in the door.

ā€œI’m leaving for town, do you need–oh, hello. Sorry to interrupt.ā€

No problemo.

ā€œNope, but thanks for checking, Cassie. I’ll be at Abby’s tonight for dinner. Evan and I are going there after baseball practice.ā€

ā€œI won’t wait up,ā€ Cassie says, winking. She’s gone before I can say anything.

Given her resemblance to Jeff, I hazard a guess.Ā Daughter?

He shakes his head. ā€œYoungest sister. She came out for a visit and I can’t get her to leave.ā€

She must be a big help with your son.Ā When I reach the end of theĀ wall, I turn to see the rest of his notes.

ā€œSon? Oh, Evan. He’s not…not really. He lives in the valley with Abby.ā€ The alarm on his phone interrupts him, and he fumbles with the buttons, cursing until it quiets. ā€œSorry. I will never get the hang of that damn thing. Abby is Evan’s foster mother. We’ve sort of agreed to co-parent while I’m here. It’s a long story.ā€

Abby. Her name is on the makeshift workspace on the opposite wall. Below it are scribbled notes that I recognize as behavior patterns, phobias, and symptoms.Ā You profiled your neighbor?

He runs his hand back through his hair, staring past me at the notes. ā€œUm, yeah. She doesn’t like to talk about herself, so this was easiest.ā€

So baseball practice, dinner, sister, neighbor, little boy…when do you have time to catch a killer?

He snorts a laugh. ā€œThat’s a good question.ā€ He checks his watch again. ā€œI’m sorry to cut this short, but I really do need to get Evan. He shouldn’t stand on the sidewalk alone.ā€

Would you like me to visit again when you get back to Chicago? Maybe in your lab?

ā€œThat would probably be best,ā€ he says as he grabs his jacket.

When will that be, Jeff?

ā€œI’m due to be back in September.ā€ He takes a deep breath as we walk to the cars. ā€œHonestly, Linda, I have no idea when I’ll be back. Don’t tell Bob yet, okay?ā€

Your secret’s safe with me.

0416_9781459293557_Hard_Silence (smaller file)

FBI profiler Jeff Crandall returned to Fiddler, Idaho, to work on new Bureau protocols in peace…and because he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about Abby Quinn. Kind, beautiful and quietly sexy, the petite rancher next door is loved by the entire town but keeps fiercely to herself. She’s a mystery that doesn’t want to be solved, though he’s desperate to try.

Whether that interest is professional or personal is a question he’ll sort out later.

Abby knows sharing her secrets would bring death and destruction to Fiddler. She survived her childhood, barely, but a long list of stepfathers weren’t nearly so lucky: their bodies are buried across the country, waiting to be discovered. The best protection is silence, anonymity and isolation, though the handsome agent next door seems hell-bent on destroying all three.

And he just keeps kissing her…

When Jeff is called in to investigate an interstate serial killer case spanning two decades, Abby knows it’s only a matter of time before he connects the dots, sees her for who she really is and walks away. But it’s when he’s standing in the crosshairs of Abby’s past that Jeff faces his biggest challenge yet: how to give the woman he loves the life she doesn’t believe she deserves.

EXCERPT:

She lay down on the blanket and stared up at the stars winking down at her. There. The one that looked pink was Connie. Pink had been her favorite color. And that one was Beau, and that one was Ron, and that one was John. The one there, all alone, was Walt. That fuzzy one there was the Toby Wallis had killed. The twinkly one nearest the horizon was Buck. And the brightest one, in the middle, was Papa.

Raising her camera, she focused on that one and adjusted the lens. She could see the wispy clouds in front of it and the drifts of stars behind it. Then she couldn’t see anything. Putting her feet flat, she pushed her back against the ground and prepared to fight. The auto-focus adjusted, revealing—not a monster—but gray hair gleaming in the moonlight.

Moving the camera, she blinked up at the obstruction. ā€œYou’re in my shot.ā€

ā€œSorry,ā€ Jeff muttered.

He wasn’t sorry enough to move. Instead of taking the picture, she sat up, put her camera on the blanket and grabbed her ale. The sour apple flavor reminded her of Jolly Ranchers. She blinked up at him, waiting on his anger.

ā€œLook, I don’t mean to ruin your evening or push you. Just tell me what I did to piss you off so badly you’d refuse an apology.ā€

Her skin heated. Shit. See? This is what happens when you try to be normal. People find out you’re weirder than they thought. ā€œWhy would you. Apologize. To me?ā€ she asked, cursing that he’d approach her tonight when so many memories clanged against her tongue, begging to be told. ā€œI’m the one. Who ruined. Everything.ā€

Without waiting on an invitation, Jeff sat next to her on the blanket. ā€œAre you? Iā€”ā€ he ticked the items on his fingers ā€œā€”didn’t let you cancel, didn’t make reservations, forgot our date, took you to the hospital for an emergency, and then asked you to talk about something very painful.ā€ He looked at the bottle in her hand. ā€œI thought you didn’t drink.ā€

ā€œOnly on special occasions.ā€ She smothered her belch and put the empty in the six-pack.

ā€œIt looks like a very special occasion.ā€

She stared at the Jack Daniel’s bottle in his hand. Buck had loved Jack Daniel’s. ā€œYou seem to be having one of your own.ā€

ā€œAnniversary. You?ā€

She wove her fingers through the yarn fringe on the blanket. She’d attached it after the satin border had given way during the first year she’d been here alone. ā€œAnniversary.ā€

ā€œYour father?ā€

ā€œMy best friend.ā€ Abby preempted the question she knew he’d ask. ā€œShe was murdered.ā€ The last word tightened her lungs.

ā€œHow old were you?ā€

You can do this. One word. Just this one. ā€œEight.ā€

ā€œDid they catch him?ā€

It wasn’t a him, it was a her. And no, they didn’t. She got away, and she’s out there, and I can’t tell anyone. Every nerve in her body begged her to tell him. He’d find her monster. Just like he’d found Maggie’s monster last year.

But Wallis would escape. She always did. And then Maggie would have a new monster to fear. So would Faye, and Evan, and even Jeff. He’d pay for his good deed. So Abby glued her lips together and shook her head.

ā€œDo you know how frustrating that is?ā€ Jeff asked. ā€œTo be talking to you and have you just stop?ā€

ā€œThen why spend time with me?ā€ she countered. ā€œGo home.ā€ Though she used her best glare, he stayed put. ā€œYou can’t help me,ā€ she persisted. ā€œI’m not a. Victim. You can save.ā€ It’s too late for me.

He took a sip of whiskey. ā€œCan’t I just like spending time with you?ā€

No he couldn’t. He should go away. ā€œJeffā€”ā€

ā€œI need someone to talk to, Abby. If I was back in Chicago I’d be out with friends, where I wouldn’t be stuck in my own head.ā€ He looked across at her.

ā€œWhat about Cassidy?ā€

ā€œShe’s out with Carter.ā€ His smile widened. ā€œShe’s my sister. Didn’t she tell you?ā€

Not his girlfriend. She stared back, her skin heating even as her heart thudded. She ought to stick to her resolution. One last rebuff, after he’d confided in her, would permanently exile her. Taking a deep breath, she rehearsed the damning lines. I don’t care. Go away and leave me alone.

ā€œIs this the date your father died?ā€ she asked.

ā€œTwenty-three years ago today,ā€ he said. ā€œIt’s weird. I’ve not had him longer than I actually did have him, but it never gets easier. I was still looking for him in the crowd when I finished my PhD. Hell, I even dreamed Mom had him stuffed and put him on the sofa like a pillow. He’s missed all the experiences that made me who I am, but he’s colored all my decisions.ā€ He sighed. ā€œI feel like he’s looking over my shoulder, and I don’t want to disappoint him. And I have. One of his murderers was just granted parole, and I wasn’t there to fight it.ā€

She nodded. She felt a similar weight every day that Wallis walked free.

ā€œMaybe it was meant for us to hang out together,ā€ he murmured, nudging her. ā€œMy dad, your friend, same day. That’s a big coincidence.ā€

If this was Fate in action, she had a sick sense of humor. Still, it was comforting to share this loss with him, knowing he’d experienced something similar. Even if she couldn’t talk about it.

ā€œWhat was her name?ā€ he asked.

ā€œConnie.ā€ That was safe enough. No last name, no location. Just a little girl who’d died.

ā€œDid you grow up with her?ā€

Abby shook her head. ā€œI met her my first day of third grade. The desk in front of her was empty, so I sat there. We were wearing the same shoes.ā€

ā€œSo you became instant friends?ā€

She nodded. ā€œWe used to stay on the playground until she had to go home, swinging so high the chains buckled and we’d drop like we were on a roller coaster. Her braids would bounce against her back, and she’d whoop and laugh and start again.ā€

ā€œI always liked the seesaw,ā€ Jeff whispered. His breath brushed her ear. When she turned her head, they were almost nose to nose, and his arm was warm against her back. This close, his smile was blinding. ā€œYou looked cold,ā€ he explained as if reading her mind. ā€œMy younger sisters were Brownies. Were you and Connie?ā€

ā€œNo. But she’d found an old handbook at the library, so we were working through it. One night we camped in her backyard and her dad showed us the stars while we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows.ā€

He shook out her extra blanket and covered their legs. The flannel trapped his body heat against her skin and concentrated his scent.

ā€œWhat constellations did you learn?ā€ he asked.

She pointed at the sky. ā€œBig Dipper. Little Dipper. Perseusā€”ā€

Jeff pointed to her left, and drew a design. ā€œThere’s Cassiopeia.ā€ Then another. ā€œAndromeda.ā€ Then he pointed to her right. ā€œAnd there’s Hercules.ā€ His fingers tightened on her hip. ā€œYou know, that thing you’re doing with your hand is driving me crazy.ā€

His words made her focus on the hand resting on his thigh. His well-worn jeans were silky soft, and she was rubbing the inside seam between her fingers. He shivered as her nails scratched the fabric. She yanked her hand away.

He pulled her back to him and placed his hand atop hers. Underneath were large solid muscles and bone, above were long, gentle fingers. Everything about him was comforting and not at the same time.

Interview with contemporary romance author, Christina Tetreault!

Hey everyone! I’m thrilled to have Christina Tetreault on my blog today! Christina writes contemporary romances and she’s a local New Englander (!!!). šŸ˜€ Check out her latest novel, PROTECTING THE BILLIONAIRE and learn a little more about her below.

Welcome, Christina! Tell us about your latest release. šŸ˜€

My new release, Protecting The Billionaire, is the seventh in my The Sherbrookes of Newport Series. This book features Allison Sherbrooke whom readers saw briefly in book 6 More Than A Billionaire. Allison comes from a wealthy powerful family. In fact, in the book her Uncle is the current President of The United States. She has recently moved from Providence, Rhode Island to Alexandria Virginia. Although she doesn’t realize it she has a stalker in Virginia.

During an evening out with her brother, cousin and their wives, she reconnects with the hero. Rock Raimono is her brother Trent’s brother-in-law and readers met him in book 5 Redeeming The Billionaire. Rock is a United States Marine currently stationed in Quantico, Virginia.

Providence, my hometown! Yay! Also Marines…yum. šŸ˜‰ What was the hardest thing about writing this book? The easiest?

The most difficult part was adding in the suspense. I have never written a novel, which included any suspense. The easiest part was the secondary characters. The secondary characters in this book appeared in their own novels, so I knew them well.

I love me some suspense, but you’re right, it can be difficult to write. If you could bring one of your characters (villain or hero) to life, who would you chose? Why?

I think I would bring Rock, the hero, to life. He is the type of guy who will do anything for the woman he loves even if it means putting his life in danger.

My favorite kind of guy! šŸ˜€ So Paramount Pictures wants to make a movie about your latest novel…who plays the main characters?

I think I would have Emily Bett Rickards play Allison.

emily-bett-rickards

For Rock, I’d ask them to cast the cover model, Jon, I hired to do the cover pic. He’s super nice and handsome.

Emily Bett Rickards is awesome in Arrow…love her character! So tell us a little about yourself. šŸ™‚

Today I live in Southern New Hampshire with my family. However, I grew up in Rhode Island. My husband and I have been married for fourteen years and I have three beautiful daughter ages 8, 6, and 6. We also have three dogs, the oldest of which is 16 years old.

I also grew up in RI…and now I’m back in RI, LOL. šŸ˜€ Sweet! Tell us one thing about yourself your readers may not know about you.

In the past fourteen and half years I have lived in four of the six New England states. The only two I have not lived in yet are Maine and Vermont.

I’ve lived in three so you’ve got me beat there. šŸ˜‰ What are you working on now?

Currently, I am working on the 8th book in the Sherbrooke Series, Bidding On The Billionaire.

Awesome! Eight books is definitely impressive. Congrats! Thanks so much for stopping by, Christina. Where can we find you?

Don’t leave yet, Dear Reader! Here’s a little more about PROTECTING THE BILLIONAIRE:

ProtectingTheBillionaireFINAL600

From the outside it appears as though billionaire Allison Sherbrooke lives a charmed life. She comes from a loving family and possesses the means to do anything she desires, not to mention her budding new romance with the sexy Marine she danced with at her brother Trent’s wedding.

Appearances can be deceiving though. All is not perfect in Allison’s world. Since her move to Virginia she’s had a stalker in the shadows.

Marine Corps Captain Rocco ā€œRockā€ Raimono has spent his life defending and protecting others. Now he must protect the woman he’s falling in love with from an obsessed stalker who wants Allison for himself. For Rock, failure is not an option.

EXCERPT:

Not counting when she asked Rock to act as her stand in boyfriend for the night, had she ever asked a man on a date. She’d never needed to. Tonight an urgency to know him better gripped her. It had started the moment he picked her up and grew as the night went on. Now with him about to leave, she needed to do something while she still had the opportunity. Once he walked out the door, she might not get another chance.

His face remained expressionless. Had she miss read him tonight?

No. She might have imagined the glances she thought he sent in her direction, but she hadn’t imagined the hard erection she felt when they’d danced. No it had been quite real.

ā€œNot to another event like tonight’s promise. Something more casual. There are some nice restaurants in town. There’s also a comedy club not far from here that Jake and Charlie love.ā€ Allison moved into his personal space. ā€œOr we can do something closer to you. We don’t have to stay in this area. Anywhere is fine.ā€

His expression changed, and he nodded.

When she opened the door for him earlier, she’d thought him panty melting hot, but now as he smiled at her she realized how wrong she’d been. Wow. Maybe it was a good thing the man didn’t smile too often.

ā€œHow’s next Saturday?ā€

She’d kind of been hoping for something sooner, but she wouldn’t complain. He’d agreed. ā€œWhatever works best for you?ā€

He smiled again. Oh, yeah. He was protecting the female population by not smiling on a regular basis.

ā€œI’ve got your number. I’ll call ya later in the week, and we can work out the details.ā€

Well, she’d already done a first tonight and asked him out. She might as well do another first and kiss him because it didn’t look like he planned on doing it. ā€œGreat,ā€ she said leaning closer and pressing a kiss against his lips. Since everything else about the man appeared hard, she expected his lips to be too. Instead, they were warm and pliant against hers.

Rough callused hands settled on her bare skin and traveled lower sending a tingle down her spine, and she rubbed her tongue against his lips. On cue his mouth opened, and she didn’t hesitate. Right away she slipped her tongue inside.

He tasted like coffee and cherries. She’d noticed him popping hard candies on the ride into and DC as well as the ride home. She guessed they were the source of the cherry flavor.

Rock’s hands moved again, settling on her butt and an ache started between her legs. She hadn’t had sex since before Halloween when she’d still been with Charles and until this moment she hadn’t been the least bit aroused once in all that time. Now she was considering another first and asking him up to her bedroom. Never in her life had she had sex on a first date. She left that type of behavior to her brothers. Before she got intimate with a man, she liked to know more than just his name. Right now anything else about Rock seemed irrelevant. She wanted him and it was evident he desired her. There was no missing the erection pressing against her.

Then just like that his hands settled on her waist and he put space between their bodies. Cool reason immediately washed over her and heat warmed her face. She’d just been considering sex with a man she barely knew. If her brother Trent ever found out, he’d never let her live it down. She’d given him a hard time for doing the very same thing too often.

ā€œI gotta go. We’ll talk this week.ā€

RELEASING THE DEMONS nominated for a RONE Award!

Guys, guess what?!

RELEASING THE DEMONS has been nominated for InD’Tale Magazine’s RONE Award in the paranormal category! \o/

Another award! Ahhh! I’m so thrilled and honored to be among these authors. šŸ˜€

You can vote for RtD here: http://www.indtale.com/2016-rone-awards-week-one

Like The Romance Reviews, you have to log in to vote, but InD’Tale is also awesome. šŸ˜€ I would be eternally grateful for any votes at all! ā¤ Yay!

In other news, I’ve finished up the blurb on SWEET SACRIFICE (will be sharing it soon!) and submitted for a cover. Over my vacation this past week, I hit the 15K word mark (out of an estimated 35K) and it’s coming along nicely! Although, I gotta tell you, it isn’tĀ easy submergingĀ into the mind of a deeply depressed woman who’s lost her husband. Definitely needed to take a fewĀ breaks from it.

But there’s always an HEA…of course. šŸ˜‰

Anywho, that’s all for now! Thank you everyone for all of your support (you guys are the bomb!) and have a great week! ā¤ ā¤ ā¤

Interview with romance author, Erin Bevan!

Hellooooo there! šŸ˜€ Today I have romance author, Erin Bevan, for an interview! Her latest novel, WEDDING DAY, just released a few days ago and I’m thrilled to have her stop by today. Without further ado, here’s Erin!

Welcome, Erin! Tell us about WEDDING DAY. šŸ˜€

Hey LD! Thanks for having me. My latest book, Wedding Day,Ā justĀ released on April 13. It’s about a tough riding cowboy home resting with an injury. All in good fun, his brother makes a bet that he can’t land the new again veterinarian that’s come back to live in Frisbee. Dallas isn’t one to back down from his brother, so he takes the bet except he has no intentions of seriously dating this lady. Win the bet, and it’s over, or so he thinks.

Ha, sounds like fun! What was the hardest thing about writing this book? The easiest?

Probably the amount of rewrites I had to do. It’s taken four years for this book to see the light of day, but the time has finally come!

And cheers to that! *tips wine glass* If you could bring one of your characters (villain or hero) to life, who would you chose? Why?

Oh, that’s hard. Probably the best friend Spencer. She’s the type of friend I would like to have, and she’s very fashionable. She could help me out!

Great answer! And fun. šŸ˜€ Speaking of fun, Paramount Pictures wants to make a movie about your latest novel. Who plays the main characters?

Yah!! Perhaps Dallas is played by Jesse Meltcalfe.Ā (YUM)

MV5BNTI3NTQ0NTY1Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMDEwNTIwNzE@._V1_UY317_CR51,0,214,317_AL_

Brittany Snow would be a good Cassie,

brittany-snow-profileand as silly as this sounds, I always pictured Miss Kay from Duck Dynasty as the mother but with acting skills!

dd-s4-kay-castbio-688x1065

Haha! Awesome! Great choices. šŸ˜€ So tell us a little about yourself.

I’m a wife and mother of three. I’m an avid coffee drinker and spend most mornings at the local YMCA. If I don’t exercise, my brain doesn’t work.

Agreed on the coffee drinking and exercise (although I surely could use more of both ;)). Tell us one thing about yourself your readers may not know about you.

Umm… I don’t know! I lived in South Korea for a few years. Maybe you don’t know that!

I did not! That is very cool! Someday I will visit. šŸ˜‰ What are you working on now?

Right now, I am working on edits for my follow up release after Wedding Day. I currently don’t have a release date on this book yet. Perhaps early next year. And beginning next week, I’m taking a little break. I’m going to read a few books on craft and perfect some outlines for the next three stories I have in mind before I began actually writing again.

Fantastic! And I totally get the need for downtime. šŸ™‚ Thank you for stopping by–it’s been a pleasure! But don’t go too far yet, Dear Reader…here’s more about WEDDING DAY!

wedding-day

BLURB:

Famous Bull Rider Dallas Day met Cassie Bailey briefly in high school, but her plain looks and quiet personality left no lasting impression on him. Cassie, however, couldn’t say the same about Dallas.

Their paths cross again ten years later when Dallas is home recovering from an injury, and Cassie is the only veterinarian who volunteers her services at the home-town rodeo. She’s jump-starting her new practice, and every eligible man within a ten-mile radius is trying to land a date with the attractive vet.

Dallas’ older brother bets him that, even with all his charm and fame, Dallas can’t land a date with the reserved lady vet. Not one to turn down a challenge, Dallas makes it his mission to win a date with Cassie. After seeing her, he realizes they’ve met before, but he doesn’t remember her being so pretty. His persistence pays off, but when Cassie finds out about the bet, their new love is put to the test.

EXCERPT:

ā€œIs there anything I can help you with?ā€ A deep voice asked from behind her.

ā€œNo, I think we have it.ā€ She hopped down from the pen. Glacier blue eyes locked with hers. She would know his eyes anywhere. Her heart quickened just as it did the first time she’d ever laid her gaze upon him, and a tingling sensation shot through her.

Dallas looked older than she remembered, broader, gruffer, but still sexy.

Tucker, you have Tucker.

Where was he, anyway? In her haste to get ready, she’d forgotten to call him.

ā€œDallas? Yeah, we can use a hand.ā€ Chevy still fumbled with the lock. ā€œCan you come over here and help me with Knuckle Head? Dr. Bailey wants him to walk around so she can get a closer look.ā€

ā€œI really don’t think that’s necessary–ā€

ā€œI would love to help. That’s why I’m here.ā€ Dallas jogged to the front of the bull and grabbed the lead rope with his left hand. A plastered cast circled his right wrist and rose halfway up his forearm.

She turned to Spencer and furrowed her brow.

Spencer stared back at her and displayed her pageant winning 2005 Miss Frisbee smile, her thumb up in the air. Some friend she was.

Dallas and Chevy led the bull out of the pen while she observed the bull’s gait.

ā€œLet’s get him over by a water hose. I want to get a closer look at his foot.ā€ She pointed toward a washing station and followed behind the men as they led the bull, sure to steer clear of Knuckle Head’s hind legs in the event he wanted to kick her.

From her position, she had a clear view of Dallas’s backside. Everything appeared to be as tight as she remembered, which did nothing to settle those distracting tingling sensations.

Focus.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

erin-bevan

Erin Bevan was born and raised in Southwest Arkansas. She spent her teenage years working for her aunt at the local gas station flipping burgers and making milkshakes, dreaming of the day when something better would come her way, and it did in the form of a five foot six, one hundred and fifty pound engineer.

Fast forward ten years later, she found herself stuck inside an apartment in South Korea while her daughter went to preschool and her husband went to work. Alone and unable to speak the local language she turned to books for a friend. After reading a few hundred in such a short time, she decided to try her hand at writing one.

That first one sucked, but by the fifth and sixth book, Erin started to get the hang of this writing thing. Getting the first contract in the mail was a dream come true. Now, with three babies at home, she squeezes in stories one word at a time, one sentence at a time, one day at a time.

She’s a full time mom, a full time wife, with a little writer sprinkled in whenever she can get the chance. And the laundry? Well, it’s best not to open the washroom door!

Updates! Contest news, blurb, and a new project!

3694fa76a15dbb3e3ec960bd619aaa4a

RELEASING THE DEMONS has officially advanced to the final voting round of The Romance Reviews Readers’ Choice Awards!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who voted in the initial nomination round! Now I’m going to nag you to vote again (if you’re so inclined). šŸ˜‰ As before, you’ll have to log in to the site, but TRR is awesome and I bet you’ll find your next great read there. šŸ˜€

Check it out here! http://www.theromancereviews.com/viewbooks.php?bookid=18793

Any and all votes are greatly appreciated! I’m up against some fierce competition, and I honestly don’t expect to win, but I’d like to at least give them a run for their money (or votes, I suppose, ha).

BLACK BULLET has an official blurb! Check it out below. I’d love to know what you think!

Fledgling vampire Jonathan Kerr has just met his match.

Not even his past life as a former marine and FBI agent could prepare him for the battle against the monster inside him, struggling to take hold. After an old nemesis of the Senary surfaces in Brooklyn, unleashing chaos and terror in the battered borough, Jon sets out to take him down. Instead, he ends up with far more than he bargained for when he clashes with the beautiful half-vampire hybrid, Lawan Knight.

After escaping near death and suffering unspeakable horror at the hands of vampires, Lawan trusts no one, regardless of species. In between bouts of drunken stupor, her only goal is to exterminate all those who’ve wronged her, including every member of Jon’s vampire bloodline. But Jon’s soulful eyes and quick smile crawls under her skin, transforming her black and white world into a hazy shade of gray.

As the days rapidly grow darker, Jon and Lawan turn to one another, but their inner demons threaten to tear them apart. The only way either of them will survive is if they overcome their greatest fear—love.

I CANNOT WAIT TO SHARE THIS STORY WITH YOU ALL! It’s dark and heart breaking and gut wrenching–more than RtD was, IMHO–and I’m terrified of unleashing this story unto the world. BUT I MUST. Slated release is either late this summer/early fall, but you guys will be the first to know about it. šŸ˜€

In the meantime, I’ve been working on a new novella! A secret project for a secret collective by Soul Mate Publishing (set to roll out next year). šŸ˜‰ I’m about 10K words in and I’m really loving this temporary escape into another crazy world (albeit, it’s still dark, but in a different way). The image above perfectly depicts the hero, a former Navy SEAL and freshly drafted Archangel in Heaven’s Third Sphere. Too bad his old mortal life keeps dragging him back to Earth, especially his widowed wife, Irene… šŸ˜€

There will definitely be more to come on this! I’ll send outĀ sneak peeks of this gem soon once I whip the MS into shape.

And last but not least, what do you all think about me starting a FB group? Do you enjoy them? Participate? Find them useful at all? I’d love to know your thoughts! It wouldn’t only be a street team, but we’d discuss all the dark, creepy, and romantic things we love. šŸ™‚

Anywho, that’s all for now! I’m on vacation (for once, haha) and I’ve been focusing on getting some words out while I can. Hope you all have a wonderful week and stay tuned! ā¤

Interview with contemporary romance author, Ryan Jo Summers!

Contemporary romance author, Ryan Jo Summers, stopped by my blog today for an interview! I’m thrilled to have her here and I’m looking forward to learning more about her latest story, GLIMPSE ETERNITY. So without further ado…

Welcome, Ryan! Tell us about your latest release. šŸ˜€

This is a sweet contemporary novella called ā€œGlimpse Eternityā€. It is about a woman, Kasey Griffin, who has a full life, her own bookstore and the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis. She’s doing pretty good until hunky musician, Ben Salem, rolls into town and tells her he wants her heart.

A character with a medical condition? You’ve already stolen my heart! What was the hardest thing about writing this book? The easiest?

The hardest thing was facing my own demons. I do not have MS but I do face a lot of the same challenges. This book was actually written as therapy for me to come to terms and cope with my condition and limitations. In order to write it, Kasey and I both had to learn to accept our shortcomings and take a leap of faith—or a few of them—that yes, we can do this. In Kasey’s case, it was believing a man would accept her long term. For me, it was accepting this is my long term life now.

Easiest part would have been the actual writing of each scene, hooking them together into a storyline.

Writing can definitely be a form of therapy and I’m glad you were able to accomplish this for both Kasey and yourself. If you could bring one of your characters (villain or hero) to life, who would you chose? Why?

Logan Riley from Shimmers of Stardust. He’s a Civil War hero who turned outlaw. He was hanged back in 1869 and ended up alive in our modern world. I absolutely love his cowboy logic and sometimes comical approach to this bewildering modern world. Despite how he made some bad choices in life, he still has a hero’s heart and is noble and loyal. Who wouldn’t want a handsome man like that around?

I certainly would! He sounds like a lot of fun. šŸ˜€ Speaking of fun, Paramount Pictures wants to make a movie about your latest novel. Who plays the main characters?

Harry Connick Jr. for Ben Salem. I’ve had a crush on Harry for years now and doubtlessly he’s a subconscious inspiration for musician Ben.

19869019-mmmain.jpg

Kasey… I’m not sure. Meg Ryan could do it well. I haven’t watched television in about six years so I am out of the loop as to who the ā€˜new people’ are these days so my answers might age the characters a bit.

meg

Great choices! šŸ˜€ So tell us a little about yourself.

I live in North Carolina with my beloved pets. I abhor technology, especially all this new-fangled stuff out lately, but I am learning to slowly appreciate its usefulness to my writing. My idea pastime is hanging out on the wicker sofa on my porch, my dog at my side, watching the falling rain, listening to the wind chimes blow and birds flittering at the feeders. I work on current or future projects and dream of having horses again. Fall and winter are my favorite seasons and I always have a mug of sweet coffee at my side.

Mmm, coffee. Sounds amazing! Tell us one thing about yourself your readers may not know about you.

I have no sense of smell. It’s called Anosmia. I have never had any ability to smell anything, good or bad, pleasant or strong. There is just nothing there.

Wow, that’s crazy! I can’t even imagine. Could be a good or bad thing depending on the situation. šŸ˜› What are you working on now?

Two things: a final draft for my first ever romantic comedy. It is about finding love in the most unexpected places. Second: is my problem child. I’ve been pounding away on this novel for over two years and can happily say, with some confidence, I am nearing the finish line on the first draft. Whew! I’ll celebrate when I can finally type ā€˜the end’ on that literary monster. It began as inspiration from a photo, I uncharacteristically started writing without a sense of plot, storyline, characters, or even genre. I just wrote ā€œby gutā€ and the story has taken its own course as the months have unfolded. Now, I have set it aside for a few weeks or months here or there to work on other projects and then pull it back to the desktop later on. But I am close to finishing it! I see Chocolate Fudge Cake in my near future!

Chocolate fudge cake is the best reward for typing “The End!” On that note, thanks so much for stopping by and spending some time with us, Ryan. šŸ˜€ Where else can we find you?Ā

And here’s more about GLIMPSE ETERNITY!

GlimpseEternityFINAL

Kasey Griffin is determined to prove a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis isn’t going to ruin her life or define her expectations. She is dedicated to her pregnant sister, her pets and operating her bookstore, ‘The Next Chapter’. She has everything she needs to have a full and satisfying life–the daily challenges of her condition notwithstanding.

Then hunky musician Ben Salem rolls into town. Ben’s subtle charm quickly reminds Kasey she is more than a woman with a disease, she is also a woman with a heart. And Ben wants it.

Will Ben still desire her once he learns the terrible details of her condition?

SNIPPET:

Silence hung between them. Kasey shifted from foot to foot. Should she offer coffee, cook breakfast, or ask what happened that he spent the night? Self-consciously, she tugged at her hair again. Muttonchop whined at the tension slowly filling the room.

ā€œSo, does that happen often?ā€ Ben asked slowly, cautiously, reaching out to pat Muttonchop. ā€œLast night?ā€

Her eyes widened, breath caught. She felt like a deer in the headlights. So this was where he was going to walk out, she decided. Thomas padded into the room and sat, watching them. She wanted to scoop the big cat up, to hold him as a shield from what was to come. He was going to ask just enough questions to find out what was wrong with her and then decide it wasn’t for him. Who would want her once he knew? She took a breath, steeling herself for the inevitable.

ā€œSometimes.ā€

He considered that, tilting his head. ā€œHave you seen a doctor? It seems kind of out of character for you.ā€ He cracked a quick grin. ā€œPlease don’t look like I’m scaring you because it’s starting to scare me.ā€

He was scared? She was terrified. She pulled in a hard breath. ā€œI have seen a doctor. It’s complicated.ā€

Character Interview: Heath from SCARRED PROTECTOR!

Hey everyone! I have Midworlder, Heath, from Maggie Mundy’s latest paranormal romance, SCARRED PROTECTOR, on my blog today! He’s talking about his love for Evie and Frederic Chopin. šŸ˜€ Check it out and learn more about his story below!

Well, hello there, Heath! Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I’mĀ a Midworlder or you would call me an alien. I am a half breed so I cannot live on my world anymore. I look like any regular human but I have wings. I can live a long time but it has its drawbacks. You watch those you love, die. I was born in the 1800’s in England and Evie says I remind her of Mr. Darcy, except with wings.

An alien, neat! I always wanted to be an alien. šŸ˜‰ Tell us about your work.

I protect the Angelics attached to humans. You call them guardian angels but they are the pureblood form of my species. They absorb the energy from the human they are linked to, but can only be on Earth in an ethereal form. The Demonics have their own Midworlders too. You guessed it; we fight each other to keep the status quo.

Fascinating and very similarĀ to our beliefs of angels and demons! If you had a day to do anything you wanted, what would you do?

I would spend it with the woman I love, Evie. I like to take her on my motorbike. She screams and holds on tight when I go fast.

I love me some motorbikes! Favorite alcoholic beverage (and not before you go on a motorbike, mind you :P)?

I like fine wines though I am starting to get a taste for rum since I met Evie.

Maybe mix them both, see what happens? šŸ˜‰ How about your favorite music?

I like classical music especially Frederic Chopin. His Nocturnes are haunting and beautiful. I have lived long but have never learned an instrument. Maybe it is something I might do in the future.

You should! Why the heck not? What do you love most about Evie?

She is feisty and loyal. Evie has suffered so much but would do whatever she could to help others. She swears a lot but I am getting used to it. In fact it’s starting to rub off on me to the surprise of the members of my Enclave. She also has the most magnificent breasts.

Ha! Lucky girl. šŸ˜‰ Before the story began, what were your hopes for the future?Ā

I had none. I was unable to save my first love long ago. I wanted to die but the powers on Homeworld would not allow me to. I fight Demonics and do my job well, but my life was empty.

So what changed?

Evie came into my life and turned it upside down.

Sounds like it was in a good way! Looks like our time is running out…thanks so much for stopping by, Heath. šŸ˜€ Any parting thoughts?

Never give up. Just when you think you have nothing to live for, fate will throw you a lifeline.

Well said and so very true! Want to learn more about Heath and Evie? Check out their novel,Ā SCARRED PROTECTOR:

(looooove this cover!)

scarredPROTECTOR_805x1275 (2)

Angels and demons are not what you think. They are aliens, and the Midworlders are their representatives on Earth. An Angelic Midworlder called Heath goes to the aid of Evie who is about to be attacked by Demonics. He soon discovers she can see the angels and demons around her and is in grave danger. He is captivated by Evie who has physical and mental scars like him. They are tortured souls who are deeply connected by his past. There is an evil lurking inside Evie that could kill them both.

BUY LINK:Ā http://tinyurl.com/pkch5es

SNIPPET:

Heath stopped ascending into the sky and hovered and allowed himself a moment of reflection as he gazed down at her face. What was going on here? She cradled against his chest and he had to admit he liked the sensation. He didn’t touch people unless he had to and had forgotten what it felt like to have a human pressed against you. It brought out protectiveness in him.

Her reached up and touched her cheek with his fingertips. The glow was gone from around her body, but the tingle still remained. She felt warm, too warm, as if she was running a fever. He moved his hand away surprised at himself. He never let his emotions show and yet he felt drawn to this strange woman with the wet and bedraggled fuzzy hair. It must have been the jolt of lightening affecting him. She looked so vulnerable and yet he had seen her be tough against Charles. She hadn’t known what she was taking on but she had fought well. He didn’t know her but he liked her feistiness. It was irrelevant. He needed to stop these pointless contemplations and concentrate on saving her.

Author interview with sports romance author, Jennifer Doyle!

I’m so thrilled to have fellow NEC-RWA member, Jennifer Doyle, on my blog today! Her debut sports romance, CALLING IT, is out for preorder and I can’t wait to read it. šŸ˜€ Read on to learn more about Jen and her journey to publication.

Welcome, Jen! *hands you a martini…at 6AM* Tell us about your latest release!

First, thanks for having me. As a debut author, it is wonderful to be part of such a welcoming and supportive community of writers! (Agreed!)

CALLING IT is my debut book and I feel so grateful to have this first experience be with Carina Press. The book is about Nate Hawkins, a big-time baseball player whose life is crashing down around him so he heads home to small-town Iowa. Where, of course, he meets feisty librarian Dorie Donelli. Although she’s wearing her bathrobe at the time, as the youngest in a family of seven—the other six of whom are her older brothers—Dorie isn’t in any way intimidated by the hunk of man standing in her kitchen. It makes an impression on Nate that he isn’t quite ready for—and to his surprise, he keeps coming back for more.

Sounds fabulous! What was the hardest thing about writing this book? The easiest?

The hardest? Cutting! The original manuscript I queried was almost 125K. (Don’t try this at home, folks.) Anyone who knows anything—which, clearly, I didn’t at the time, LOL—knows that this is way too long, and the final product ended up at 101K. It was soooooo hard to cut complete scenes. But at the same time, my agent and editor were brilliant in their comments and those scenes definitely needed to go.

(And although most of those scenes went directly to the cutting room floor, there are some deleted scenes—and, perhaps, an Epilogue—that will show up in my newsletter when the proper time comes. If you’re interested, you can sign up at my website, which is listed below.)

In terms of the easiest? Falling in love with my characters. Some of the scenes between Nate and Dorie just came so naturally that, even after the multiple rounds of edits, almost no changes were made because they were just that right for each other.

I definitely feel your pain on cutting–you already know what my first manuscript clocked in at! šŸ˜› And as for Nate and Dorie, I absolutely love when everything falls perfectly into place. šŸ˜€  Speaking of which, if you could bring one of your characters (villain or hero) to life, who would you chose? Why?

Ugh—I have to choose just one? Well, I wouldn’t mind having Nate around, that’s for sure. I mean, he’s gorgeous (surprise!), has a great sense of humor, and just enough of that Alpha that, well… (Is it getting hot in here?)

But Dorie is one of those people who would be your best friend ever. And then there’s Wash. And Fitz, and Deke…

Next question? LOL.

Haha, what the heck, bring them all to life! Paramount Pictures wants to make a movie about your latest novel. Who plays the main characters?

Ooooooohhhhh… Come check out my Pinterest boards for my casting!

I’ve got Marc Blucas as Nate,

Marc-Blucas-Net-Worth

Sarah Shahi as Dorie,

Life

Chris Pratt as Deke,

6357075081857794681161325026_chris-pratt-41

Anna Kendrick as Fitz,

Anna-Kendrick-Favorite-Music-Movies-Food-Perfume

Mehcad Brooks as Wash…

Mehcad-Brooks_1434

The list goes on.

That is one SEXY cast! *fans self* So tell us a little about yourself.

I have a master’s degree in Library and Information Science (thus my love of librarians) and, after practicing as a librarian for several years, went back to my grad school program and worked there as the director of curriculum and communications for ten years. I now do a very similar job for a group of preschools in the Boston area. Luckily, my bosses and co-workers know about my sideline activities so I don’t have to hide it, thank goodness! I have three kids, three cats, and a husband who loves the kids (as one would hope, LOL) but could probably do without the cats.

LOL, my hubby says he could do without our cats, but then I catch him snuggling them intermittently. šŸ˜› Tell us one thing about yourself your readers may not know about you.

I came very late to the romance genre. I’d grown up reading mysteries and thrillers almost exclusively (I know, I know—bad librarian; but I worked mostly in the insurance industry so it wasn’t like there were any Harlequins in among the stacks šŸ™‚ ), and had never even picked up a romance novel until about four years ago. But once I started, I never looked back.

Romance is (obviously) my favorite genre too…but I’m always game for a thriller or mystery. šŸ˜‰ What are you working on now?

I turned in the first draft of book two—CALLED UP—at the end of February. It will be available later this year. I took a couple of weeks for my brain to settle a bit, but my characters are calling to me…

That’s awesome, congratulations! Where can we find you?

All over!

BLURB:

After a near career-ending car accident and with paparazzi surrounding his penthouse, all-star catcher Nate Hawkins can only think of one place to go: home. But when he finds his old apartment occupied by a half-naked woman wielding a baseball bat, he’s not sure what to think…except that maybe his luck has finally changed for the better.

Librarian Dorie Donelli never thought she’d get to meet her fantasy man in person—much less while she’s wearing her bathrobe. To her surprise, her nearly naked run-in with Nate leads to more unclothed encounters. But Dorie is sure their fling is only temporary. As long as she remembers he’ll be gone once his life gets back on track, she won’t get hurt. In the meantime, she throws herself into enjoying their three weeks together before he has to report for spring training and go back to his old life.

SNIPPET:

This is from Chapter 8, immediately after Nate Hawkins, i.e., Dorie Donelli’s long-time celebrity crush, has asked if he could see her later that night:

Wait, like an actual date? With all these crazy emotions and strange feelings swirling around them? It was one thing to hang out. To banter and tease. To strip naked and do his bidding. ā€œUh… Umā€¦ā€

She wanted sex with her imaginary boyfriend come to life, with the gorgeous fantasyland superstar baseball player. She did not—could not—allow herself to think beyond that. Not when the true-to-life man was so much more than she’d ever dreamed—so much more that she could see herself losing focus. Getting caught up and taking her eyes off her own goals. And if Courtney Knight, billionaire trust fund baby, beautiful muse for, at last count, three musicians and one painter, and brilliant morning news anchorwoman, was now primarily known as Nate Hawkins’s Ex-FiancĆ©e, well, Dorie Donelli did not stand a chance. It was so against her New Life directive that it wasn’t even funny.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

A big believer in happily ever afters, Jen Doyle decided it was high time she started creating some. Jen is a member of the Romance Writers of America, as well as a member of the New England Chapter, New Jersey Romance Writers and Music City Romance Writer chapters of RWA. She is represented by Sarah E. Younger of the Nancy Yost Literary Agency.

She has an M.S. in Library and Information Science and, in addition to her work as a librarian, has worked as a conference and events planner as well as a Communications and Enrollment administrator in both preschool and higher education environments (although some might say that there is very little difference between the two; Jen has no comment regarding whether she is one of the ā€œsomeā€).
